Bleeding Internal Hemroids - Causes, Symptoms and TreatmentsHEMROID help - Contents this page:1.. BLEEDING INTERNAL HEMROIDS: CAUSES and SYMPTOMS2.. BLEEDING INTERNAL HEMROIDS TREATMENT 1.. Bleeding Internal Hemroids: CAUSES and SYMPTOMSBleeding internal hemroids occur, because at least one of the internal hemroids is scratched, either through wiping or the passing of a hard stool - with blood sometimes showing up on the toilet paper or in the poo or stool. Sometimes the blood loss from bleeding internal hemroids is so great, that the sufferer may become anemic - iron deficient. For some, the bleeding internal hemroids are so severe that the toilet is covered in blood after each sitting - one of my relatives had hemroids like that. He had contracted malaria when defending his country back in the second world war. The malaria damaged his liver, which meant he couldn't have a hemorrhoidectomy to fix up his bleeding internal hemroids. For most hemroid sufferers though, the bleeding from internal hemroids is very little, if any. Diorhea / diarrhea is a danger to hemroid bleeding ( and pain and discomfort ), only because the wiping up after the stool has passed, may damage the hemroids. Bright red blood is normally indicative of bleeding hemroids, whereas darker blood is suggestive of bleeding much further up the anal canal and not so much from bleeding hemroids. Warning, bleeding may be due to other possibilities, such as cancer, typhoid fever. Bleeding should NOT be put down to bleeding internal hemroids until after the doctor's examination, including the anorectal examination - including sigmoidoscopy, which involves inserting a tube about 25 inches or 65 cm up the anal canal that allows the doctor to visually inspect the inside of the rectum. If a colonoscopy appears required, the tube goes up a long long way. Only this type of extensive examination can rule out most of the other nasties that may imitate bleeding internal hemroids. Why do hemroids bleed so freely or so much? Simple, the hemroids are swollen blood vessels, if the blood vessel is damaged, the blood in the swelling is released and, for some people, those bleeding hemroids can release a lot of blood from those blood engorged swollen blood vessels.
2.. Bleeding internal hemroids TREATMENTSThere are a number of treatments that are appear to be good for bleeding internal hemroids: The first treatment is to keep the stools soft, but not runny. The hemroids treatment for this normally involves taking more insoluble fibre and more water into the diet. The fibre can come from high fibre foods, such as wholemeal bread, wholegrain cereals and breads, skins of fruit and vegetables, seeds and, dried legumes (peas and beans). The insoluble bran can also be purchased as wheat bran, corn bran and rice bran, which is then added into foods such as cake, pancake and scone mixtures. The brans can also be sprinkled onto breakfast cereal. However, if you are on a high fibre diet and your stools are small and hard, it is possible you may need to cut back on the fibre. Too much fibre can cause constipation, which can cause hemroids to become damaged and to bleed as a result. Always drink plenty of water along with high fiber, as the fiber will absorb the water and make the stool much softer and easier to pass. The next line of bleeding internal hemroids treatments involves using creams, suppositories or injections specially designed to lower the blood flow in the hemroids and or are aimed at shrinking the bleeding internal hemroids. By doing so, the hemroid bleeding is reduced or stopped - at least until the medication wears off. Doctor's prescription necessary. Another line of treatment to stop the hemroids from bleeding, is the use of herbs, in particular, their essential oils. Amoils sell such a product of essential oils as a treatment for bleeding internal hemroids. One article on essential oils and bleeding hemorrhoids that is widely distributed on the internet appears to state that Cypress is an essential oil to aid the bleeding from hemroids as a treatment, that is make them bleed or bleed more. However, on researching it further, I found that the exact opposite was meant by the author. Keep that error in mind if you visit other web sites on bleeding hemorrhoids. Further research also shows that Pelargonium (type of geranium) may be useful to stop the bleeding from hemroids, but I still have to determine how safe it is to use on bleeding internal hemroids, even though it is commonly used on non-bleeding hemroids. If you know, you may like to direct me to the information - book, article, web site... However, using the herbal treatments for bleeding internal hemorrhoids, whether prolapsed or not, is not without risk. Goes without saying, wipe gently and use soft wet cloth or soft toilet paper to do so, to avoid scratching the hemroids, which can cause them to bleed. Also, you can often reduce the blood loss from an internal hemroid, by taking an anti-inflammatory, such as Brufen - isobrufen. Hemroids are often inflamed. The anti-inflammatory works by reducing any inflammation in the scratched and bleeding hemorrhoid. As inflamed areas in our body draw more blood to them for healing, reducing the inflammation in the internal bleeding hemroids, causes the blood flow to them to be reduced - hence less hemroid bleeding results as well.
